Expect Lotta here this week to visit me She Went to Tacoma Wash last June to visit Georgia is on her way home My health is quite good it is a little hard on me to be tied down to busi-ness again After loafing 3 years do not think will stay in very long . this photo of my Store 25 x 85 feet Yours Truly R R Bangs " in ink . Roscoe B . Bangs was born 18 March 1843 . As of 1862 he was a Farmer . He enlisted and was mustered as Private , Company " L " 1st Maine Cavalry in late 1862 . Service thru discharge in mid 1865 . Married Mary F . Baisley 5 July 1869 at Hartford , Connecticut . Their childern , Carrie J . Forte , born 11 December 1870 , Georgia B . Savage , 15 March 1872 , Lotta . Bangs 16 July 1873 and Ralph B . Bangs 7 January 1876 . [ as stated on 4 July 1898 within pension document . ] Roscoe was 6 feet tall with a dark complexion , black , now gray [ 1885 ] , and black eyes . Since leaving the service has resided , Farmington Me 1865 Hartford Conn 1866 Otisfield Me 1869 Casco Me 1876 Ashland Neb 1882 Douglas Grove Neb 1889 Broken Bow Neb 1906 and Comstock Neb 1909 . In a communication with the Pension Department , US Veterans Bureau in December 1930, Howard C . Savage states the condition of Roscoe his Father in Law . He is under the constant attention of a Doctor , confined to a bed and requiring constant care of a trained nurse , night and day . Roscoe R . Bangs died at the home of his Son in Law Howard in Tacoma , Washington , 21 February 1931 of senility and old age . He was cremated . Roscoe R . Bangs , 18 March 1843 ~ 21 February 1931 . Mary F . Bangs , 15 June 1850 ~ 19 February 1905 . Edith Bangs , born 9 September 1885 died 30 September 1885 . Edwin died 20 September 1886 . Children of Mary F . and R . R . Bangs . Douglas Grove Cemetery , Comstock , Nebraska . Print tones uneven . Card has defects from hard use . Photographer not known .
